This Privacy Policy explains how Solene (“Solene,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Solene desktop application, mobile applications (when available), and the website at soleneassistant.com (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are
Solene AI Assistant LLC (“Solene,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates soleneassistant.com and the Solene software. We also do business as TrillionStudios (also styled Trillion Studios on trillionstudio.org). This Privacy Policy covers the Solene apps and this website, including pages about government contracting. For privacy questions, contact privacy@soleneassistant.com, hello@soleneassistant.com, or studio privacy at privacy@trillionstudio.org.
2. Scope
This Policy covers:
- The Solene Windows desktop app (and future platform builds)
- The Solene website, including government-contracting pages, download pages, and Account / billing pages
- Paid cloud features (Plus and Pro) and related support communications
It does not cover third-party websites, Ollama models you run yourself, or Google / Microsoft / Meta account settings outside Solene’s Workspace integrations.
3. Local-first design
Solene is designed so that core day-to-day data stays on your device whenever possible.
Stored locally on your device (typical Windows path: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Solene) may include calendar events and caches, tasks, reminders, quiet hours, chat history for local use, voice preferences, license email, and Stripe customer / subscription identifiers used to unlock your plan.
Local AI (free tier): When you use Local features with Ollama or local Whisper, prompts, transcriptions, and model inference generally run on your machine and are not uploaded by Solene for those Local features.
4. Information we collect
4.1 Information you provide
- Account / billing email — used for Stripe checkout, App Store / Play purchase linking, subscription status, and Customer Portal access
- Prompts and content you send to cloud AI — when you use Plus or Pro cloud models
- Support messages — if you email us
- Calendar connection choices — if you connect Google or Microsoft calendars via OAuth
- Workspace messaging (optional) — if you connect WhatsApp Business Cloud API (access token + phone number ID). Tokens stay on the device. Personal WhatsApp drafts use the public
wa.melink and do not give Solene inbox access. - Health / wearable imports (optional) — if you choose Import from Apple Health or Health Connect, Solene reads steps, activity, heart rate, and sleep samples you authorize and stores them in your personal health log (synced when devices are linked). This is not medical advice.
4.2 Information collected automatically
- Website: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs) as needed to operate and secure the site
- App: plan tier / license state, feature usage needed to deliver the product, crash or error information if you enable diagnostic reporting (when available)
- Microphone audio: captured only when you actively use talk / hold-to-talk; processed for transcription as described below
4.3 Information from payment providers
Stripe processes card payments on the website and Windows app. The mobile apps may also offer App Store / Google Play subscriptions for the same Plus / Pro plans. When you buy in a store, we link that entitlement to your Solene / Stripe customer record by email so Windows and phone stay on one account. We receive limited billing metadata (for example customer ID, subscription status, price / product identifiers, store transaction identifiers, and the email used at checkout). We do not store full payment card numbers on Solene servers or in the desktop app.
5. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services
- Authenticate your subscription and unlock Plus / Pro features
- Process payments and manage billing via Stripe and, where required, Apple / Google in-app purchases
- Send service-related notices (for example billing or security messages)
- Respond to support requests
- Protect against abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Comply with law and enforce our agreements
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cloud AI, search, and processors
If you subscribe to Plus or Pro, content you choose to send for cloud answers may be transmitted to subprocessors so Solene can respond:
- Plus / Pro: Anthropic (Claude — default cloud model) and OpenAI
- Pro: Perplexity for research-style answers
- Web search: Brave Search (or similar) when an answer needs current information
- Payments: Stripe
- Calendar (optional): Google and/or Microsoft under their OAuth and API terms; event data may be cached locally in the app
- WhatsApp / Meta (optional): Meta WhatsApp Cloud API when you paste a Business token; Solene sends only the messages you ask it to send
- Hosting: website hosting providers for soleneassistant.com
Those providers process data under their own privacy policies and terms. Do not submit secrets, regulated health data, or other sensitive data to cloud models unless you accept the risk of third-party processing.
7. Voice and microphone
Windows (desktop): Microphone access is used only when you invoke voice features (hold-to-talk or “Hey Solene”). Local-tier transcription uses Whisper on your device or a local Whisper server you configure. Solene does not upload raw recordings for Local-tier desktop voice features.
Mobile (linked devices): When you use voice on the phone app and devices are linked, audio is sent securely to Solene’s speech service (stt.php) so we can return a transcript. Do not use voice for highly sensitive content you are unwilling to transmit. You can type instead of using the mic.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
See our Cookie Notice. The marketing site is primarily static. Account pages may use cookies or local storage as needed for session convenience and fraud prevention. Stripe may set cookies when you use Checkout or the Customer Portal.
9. Legal bases (EEA / UK where applicable)
Where GDPR / UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases as relevant: performance of a contract (providing the Services you request); legitimate interests (securing and improving the Services, preventing abuse); consent (where required, for example certain cookies or optional integrations); and legal obligation.
10. Retention
- Local app data: retained on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear Solene’s local data folder
- Billing records: retained as required for accounting, tax, dispute resolution, and Stripe’s records
- Support emails: retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for reasonable business records
- Server logs: retained for a limited period for security and operations
11. Sharing and disclosure
We share information with:
- Service providers / subprocessors listed above, only as needed to operate the Services
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
- A successor entity if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (you will be notified of material changes where required)
We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
12. International transfers
We and our processors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (for example standard contractual clauses used by our processors) or other lawful bases.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the Services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device, OS account, and any API keys you configure yourself.
14. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise rights, email privacy@soleneassistant.com. You can:
- Manage or cancel billing via the Stripe Customer Portal on Account
- Disconnect calendar integrations in the app
- Delete local Solene data from your device
- Uninstall the application
California / similar U.S. state laws: We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising as described above. You may contact us to exercise applicable consumer rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
15. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
16. Third-party links and models
The Services may link to third-party sites or use third-party models and APIs. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Local models you install (for example via Ollama) remain under your control.
17. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app, by email, or via a notice on the website. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy where permitted by law.
